Warna-Warni Botanic: Festival Fabrikasi 2024 | Sustainability & Cultural Festival Featuring Natural Dye and Eco Printing

The Warna-Warni Botanic: Festival Fabrikasi 2024 concluded successfully, marking a major milestone in promoting sustainability, cultural preservation, and environmental education through natural dye and eco-printing initiatives.
Held over four days from 5 December to 8 December 2024 at Taman Rimba Bukit Lagong, the festival welcomed more than 1,100 attendees, including students, teachers, educators, families, artisans, and members of the public.
Royal Presence & National Support
The festival was officially launched by Her Majesty The Queen of Pahang, Tengku Ampuan Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, whose presence highlighted strong support for sustainable craftsmanship, local artisans, and cultural preservation.
Accompanying Her Majesty were:
- Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Dato Sri Noraini Ahmad
- Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Seri Isham Bin Ishak
Their participation emphasized the importance of collaboration between government agencies, communities, educational institutions, and sustainability organizations.
Natural Dye & Eco Printing Showcase
More than 20 sustainability booths were featured throughout the festival, showcasing products created using natural dye and eco-printing techniques.
Visitors explored eco-friendly textile products, fashion accessories, handmade crafts, and sustainable home décor produced using plant-based coloring methods.
Natural colors extracted from local resources such as:
- Durian shells
- Coconut husks
- Leaves
- Flowers
- Tree bark
- Natural plants
demonstrated how environmental sustainability can coexist with beauty, innovation, and cultural artistry.
Orang Asli Knowledge & Cultural Sustainability
More than 20 Orang Asli representatives from Pahang, Perak, and Selangor participated actively in the festival as workshop leaders and cultural educators.
They shared valuable indigenous knowledge related to:
- Natural resources
- Traditional dyeing methods
- Eco-printing techniques
- Sustainable living practices
- Forest-based craftsmanship
This cultural exchange allowed participants to gain hands-on experience while learning directly from communities deeply connected to nature and biodiversity conservation.
