About the Program

The "Zero to Hero in Sewing Program 2022" is a strategic community empowerment initiative established through a collaboration between PPB Group Berhad and the Persatuan Seni Jahitan Kreatif Malaysia (PSJKM). The program was specifically designed to support individuals from underserved communities, particularly those from B40 households, who were adversely affected by the economic challenges brought about by the global pandemic, including job loss, reduced income, and limited employment opportunities.

The initiative aimed to transform participants from having little or no sewing experience into confident and capable micro-entrepreneurs through a structured learning journey that combined creative sewing skills, practical project development, and entrepreneurship training. Participants received intensive hands-on guidance in sewing techniques, product creation, costing, pricing, and business fundamentals, enabling them to develop marketable products and sustainable income opportunities.

  • Affected individuals who need an alternative income source to support their family's economic survival.
