Largest Display Collection of Handmade Bags | Malaysia Book of Records
The 4K Women Empowerment Program achieved recognition in the Malaysia Book of Records for displaying 8,509 handmade bags created by Malaysian artisans nationwide.
The Achievement
As a cornerstone of our sustainability events calendar, the 4K Women Empowerment programme successfully entered the Malaysia Book of Records for the largest display of 8,509 handmade bags. This event showcased the immense scale of artisanal production in Malaysia.
Women Empowerment
Under the theme “Masih Ada Yang Sayang” (Still Someone to Love It), this initiative provided a vital platform for 896 tailors nationwide. By focusing on the "Family, Career, Health, and Community" (4K) pillars, the event promoted social sustainability by enabling women to launch independent businesses using their creative sewing skills.
Eco-Conscious Craftsmanship
Each of the 8,509 bags was a masterclass in slow fashion. Utilizing diverse sewing techniques and sustainable fabric choices, these custom-made products offer a durable, ethical alternative to "fast fashion" mass production.
Economic Sustainability
PSJKM Chairman Fully Chye Goet Lee emphasized that this project is about more than just a record—it is a sustainable business incubator. By exhibiting at the TTAHM (Handmade Market), these women entrepreneurs are given the tools to achieve long-term financial independence through the circular economy.
