606 Participants Sewing Simultaneously | Guinness World Records
Sewing World successfully organized a historic mass sewing event involving 606 participants sewing simultaneously, officially recognized by Guinness World Records.
Royal Launch
Graced by Her Royal Highness Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, this milestone stands as one of our most prestigious sustainability events. Her Royal Highness led 606 participants in a synchronized Mass Batik Sewing Program, officially recognized by the Guinness World Records.
The Event
Participants sewed simultaneously for 20 minutes in Putrajaya, showcasing the power of collective artisanal work. This event also marked the grand inauguration of the National Handicraft Market, a hub dedicated to the long-term economic sustainability of local crafters.
Cultural Sustainability
This initiative focused on Social and Cultural Sustainability. By bringing together 606 tailors and hobbyists, we ensured that the traditional art of Batik sewing is passed down through generations. This event proved that sustainability events are not just about recycling, but about sustaining the livelihoods of artisans and preserving Malaysia’s rich textile heritage.
Collaborative Partners
Organized alongside the Ministry of Women (KPWKM) and PSJK, the event bridged the gap between government policy and grassroots craft, creating a sustainable ecosystem for the Malaysian handicraft industry.
